| Upside Down Count and Attitude Signals.
Signaling priority normally: Attitude, Count, Suit-Pref (may vary with logic). Count in partner's suit if dummy wins trick-1 vs NT. Suit preference when dummy has a singleton, middle is ambiguous (no clear preference) - unless necessity to tap dummy is obvious for both. Suit-pref in trumps if we think pd needs it. Rev Smith Echo vs NT mostly by opening leader's pd (low encourages opening lead suit), except in obvious count situation. When splitting honors, we play the second highest if we have two honors (J from QJx, Q from KQx), the highest if we have three honors (K from KQJ, Q from QJ10). We give true count only if we think pd needs it. |
