 Sam Amer
Sam Amer I’m a 22 year old bridge player from Delaware and have been playing the game for 10 years now. My father taught my two sisters and me when I was 12 and they quickly lost interest.  But I knew at that time I wouldn’t let this game go, there was just something about it.

About three years ago I really started playing every day consistently.  I went to my first ever junior bridge event in Atlanta and met so many good friends.  It’s exciting to go from blank stares when you talk about bridge at home, to scrutinizing conversations on why “east can get stripped squeeze, but only if you rectify the count at trick 4”.

When I’m not playing bridge I’m making time for friends and family because there’s no one else like them.  I like watching any kind of football or basketball, especially March madness when that comes around.  Bridge has always been my #1 passion and I hope it stays with me for the rest of my life.

 Matt Weingarten
Matt Weingarten Matt Weingarten, 21, started playing Bridge in an after-school program in 8th grade. Ever since then, he's been hooked, loving the game for its dependence on logic and critical thinking. He tries to go to tournaments whenever he can and has finished 3rd in the YNABC Pairs (2011) and T-5th in the NAP Flight C (2012).

Matt just graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. He will join Nielsen as a member of their Emerging Technologist Program in July 2016 and then plans on enrolling at graduate school, pursuing a Master's in Computer Science.

When he's not playing Bridge, a rarity, Matt enjoys reading and playing/watching sports. He's a big Florida Gators and Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan.
