3NT opening - good 4M opener, 8+ tricks 2 after your strong NT = 1 Major
Jump raises are mixed unless JQ is avail. 2 over your 1 is Michaels

General Bidding Style
| We bid middle of the road. Expect good 11 HCP balanced openers and may open 10 point hands unbalanced. Our preempts may include 4 cards in any unbid majors and our system caters to this.
We are a first time partnership so please expect a lot of undiscussed auctions. |
Opening Leads AND Leads in the Middle of the Hand
| We play 3rd and 5th at suit contracts and when we are leading partner's suit at notrump. Otherwise we are 4th best at NT.
We lead A from AK at suits unless we have raised a suit. We lead K from AK at the five level or when RHO had preempted at the 3 level or higher. We also lead K from AK if we are planning to shift to a singleton. A or Q asks for ATT versus NT. King is our power lead, asking for unblock or count. We play J denies, 10 or 9 is 0 or 2 higher in the middle of the hand when the Q is in the dummy. |
Defensive Signals
| We play UDAC. We give flexible signals. They vary depending on what partner needs to know about the hand.
We play Smith echo. When Smith is used by opener, it demands a continuation. Smith by 3rd hand show a positive holding based on trick 1 play. |
