Short Club with Transfer Responses:
We open pretty much all 11s NV and ~50-60% of them V. We frequently open light or very light in 3rd seat, especially NV. 1 ![]() 1 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() We respond very aggressively to 1 ![]() 1N is 13+-16 when NV and in 1/2/3 position 1N is 14+-17 when V or in 4th position We frequently upgrade especially with 5-card suits, and may occasionally have a small singleton for our 1N opening. Our preempts are modern aggressive, can be 5 in 1/2nd NV, but rarely otherwise. 2N in competition is very rarely natural: We often play 2N is a raise, and we play a lot of better-minor Lebensohl, any time game is in the picture. |
3/5th vs suits, attitude-based 2/4th vs NT, same in middle of the hand
Rusinow from 3+ vs NT except if the suit has been bid by any other player or if we have preempted and are leading a side suit. Honor leads against suits are standard (A from AK). A/Q ask for attitude, K for count at the 5-level and higher. |
Upside-down count and attitude, standard suit preference. Standard remainder count.
We tend to prioritize attitude then suit preference. In general we give a lot of suit preference. We do not play Smith vs NT: Instead, we give suit preference in Smith situations. If we have shown 5+ cards in the suit being led, we play suit preference and middle is encouraging. |
