Bids that Require Advance Preparation

Flannery 2D.
Reverse Flannery jumps to 2D, 2H, or 2S over 1m openings.
2NT as Major raise.
Competitive transfers.
Against 1NT strong, X = Clubs + Major, 2D=D+Major, 2C=Majors.
Same vs weak but X is cards.
Artificial raises.

General Bidding Style

Tend not to open BAL 11 but can do so. Open 1C with 3-3 minors, normally 1D with 4-4-3-2 but 1C is possible. 1NT is 14+-17, 2NT is 19+-21. Flannery 2D. 5-card Majors but can be 4 and/or light in 3rd seat. Preempting style not hyper aggressive.

Opening Leads AND Leads in the Middle of the Hand

Vs suits trick 1: 3rd/low, A from AK (some exceptions). From interior sequence, 3rd best from even, 2nd best from odd. K from AK in partner's suit, vs 3+ level preempts, and 5+ level. After trick 1, 4th/attitude, 10/9 0 or 2 higher around into Q or J in dummy. Vs NT: Rusinow from 4+ cards, K power. In partner's suit, 10/9 is 0/2 higher.

Defensive Signals

We play std count and std SPS. ATT is usually UD, but if AK or KQ is shown at trick 1 vs suits, this is a standard ATT signal. Otherwise at trick 1, if dummy is short, SPS. Besides that, if 3rd hand can signal, we play SPS: middle encouraging, low discouraging/SPS, high SPS. Trump SPS possible.

Vs. NT, Smith echo (can give in 2nd suit if 1st isn't available). If dummy wins give count. STD ATT on A lead otherwise UD. Signals are given if they rate to matter more to partner.
