Bids that Require Advance Preparation

Probably none. We do play 1m-2H as 5 spades and 4-5 hearts and less than an invite and 1m-2S as a mixed raise.

General Bidding Style

2/1 style. Focus on shortness in hand evaluation and bidding. Normal (modern) bidding style. Strong NT.

Opening Leads AND Leads in the Middle of the Hand

3rd/low versus suits on opening lead; 4th versus NT (if we have that many, 2nd highest from bad holdings). Attitude in the middle of the hand, except 3rd/low in cashout situations , and 2nd/4th in NT in the middle of the hand.

Standard honor leads against suits (A from AK except at 5 level and shortness situations).

Honor leads against NT ask for unblock of one below or attitude for 1 above or 2 below.

Lead top in partner's suit if raised from 3 small.

Defensive Signals

Upside down carding, except standard suit preference. Attitude, then count. Suit preference in obvious situations. We try to give the information partner will need, but only when necessary.
