Bids that Require Advance Preparation

2D = Flannery, 5+H 4+S, longer hearts than spades, 10-15 HCP
3NT in 1st and 2nd seat = 4 of a minor PRE
3NT in 3rd and 4th seat = Gambling

Reverse Flannery responses to 1 of a minor opening

(1NT) 2D = ART, one major 6+

General Bidding Style

2/1 GF
NT range good 14 to 17
Min lengths: 3355, could open 4cM in 3rd
Might be a card short on preempts with good shape

Opening Leads AND Leads in the Middle of the Hand

Vs suit:
3rd/low, attitude shifts in middle of hand, 3/5 in cashout situations

Vs NT:
Rusinow from 4+, pivot on 8-spot
attitude leads - from honor-empty-4th most often lead 3rd, but either 2nd or 4th is possible depending on degree of desire for partner to shift
attitude shifts in middle of hand

Vs both:
King lead in middle of hand asks for standard count.

Defensive Signals

Upside Down Attitude and Standard Count

================
Trick 1 signals
================
vs suit: priority is SP (657 neutral/encourage; 234 low; T98 hi)
vs NT: count on spot lead, attitude on honor lead.

We can lead A or K from AK vs suit depending on what signal we think we want. K could also be KQ.

When Ace is led promising AK, 3rd hand's signal is STANDARD attitude. K would ask for suit pref at low levels, and count at L5+ or cashout auctions

===============
After Trick 1
===============
vs suit: trump suit preference
vs NT: Rev Smith Echo (high discourages opening lead suit), except in obvious count situations.

We tend not to give count in suits declarer plays unless it's absolutely necessary (source of tricks in dummy being led and no obvious outside entry)
