Bids that Require Advance Preparation

Short club ( 1D shows 5, or a 4441 )

Cheapest JS in response to 1any is artificial and shows a limit raise or better.

General Bidding Style

Generally a middle of the road 2/1 , 14-16 NT

- 2/1 is a full GF, lower-ranking JS are inv
- open all balanced 11s and some shapely 10s
- 1D shows 5 ( exception: 4441 ). We open 1C with, say 3442.
- Aggressive one level overcalls
- Can open somewhat lighter and shorter in 3rd seat
- Lots of TO Xs until we find a fit, particularly at lower levels
- Preempts are normal-aggressive

- UI's 2Cs can be lighter than std
- We don't psych much

Opening Leads AND Leads in the Middle of the Hand

Suits:
3rd from even, low from odd, low from 3 little.
A from AK , but K from AK at 5 level or higher

NT:
4th best, 2nd from xxxx, low/high from xxx.
A=AKx
K=AKJ or KQxx
Q=AKQ or QJT
J=AQJ or KQJ or JT9
T = AJT, KJT, T9x
9 = AT9, KT9, QT9

Middle of hand: attitude-ish

Opening leads tend to be more passive than aggressive. against 1n-3n might lead from 3 as easily as bad 4.

Defensive Signals

UDCA
Reverse smith by both sides

Usually give attitude first, with a bit of suit pref as best we can when, say, following suit. We don't tend to deliberately falsecard but we're not overly religious about signaling.
