Bids that Require Advance Preparation

Precision Club with transfer responses to 1C opening.

1C – 1D = 0-7, artificial
1C – 1H = 8-+, 5+ spades
1C – 1S = 8-13, balanced
1C – 1NT = 8-+, clubs or clubs & diamonds
1C – 2C = 8-+, 5+ diamonds
1C – 2D = 8-+, 5+ hearts
1C - 2H = 8-+, 4 spades, longer minor
1C – 2S = 8-+, 4 hearts, longer minor
1C – 2NT = 14+ balanced
1C – 3 level = 3-suiters

1C 1D 1H is either hearts or a strong balanced hand (20-21, 24-25, 28-29). Responder normally bids 1S

2C is 10-15 hcp's with 5+ clubs, usually at least six. If only five clubs, they are very good.

2D is 11-15 with three suiter and 0-1 diamond. 2NT asks.

1NT range is 14-16.

General Bidding Style

1D, 1H, and 1S are 10-15. We open almost all 11 point hands, and good tens.

1D opening may be as few as 2 diamonds.

Pre-empts are normal, but 3D may be a good weak two bid type of hand

Opening Leads AND Leads in the Middle of the Hand

3rd and low leads against suits

4th best against NT.

Defensive Signals

Attitude and count are upside down.
Honor leads are standard.
We give standard present count when leading in the middle of the hand.
Attitude takes priority, then suit preference on partner's lead or count on declarer's lead.
