2D overcall of 1 of a minor bid shows the majors and 2C overcall of a 1C natural opening bid shows C.

1 minor 2H is either 11-12 Bal or mixed minor raise

2/1 GF, 5 card majors, 14+ 17 HCP NT
Unbalanced 11 HCP always opened
Balanced 11 HCP opened sometimes
Weak 2 Bids vary with Vul and seat.
1M P 2C is GF but may have more diamonds than clubs.
1M P 2D and 1S P 2H promises 5+.
2 Way NMF and XYZ
3rd seat openers can be very light esp. NV vs V
Inverted minors
Meckwell over Str NT, HELLO over Wk NT, HELLO over 1 NT overcall

3rd and 5th vs. suits, 4th vs. NT
May lead 2nd highest vs. NT from 4 small and no sequence
A from AK except at 5 level
A asks unblock or count, K asks attitude which is upside down

Defensive Signals

UDCA vs. NT and suits. Standard remainder count.
Trump suit preference.
Count is primary response to partner’s lead unless attitude appears more important.
