Future USBF Events
United States Bridge Championships
The USBF holds tournaments to select United States International Teams. The USBC, which selects teams for Open World Championships, is held every year; the USBC held each even numbered year that is not divisible by four selects one team for the next year's Bermuda Bowl. The Women's USBC, which selects teams for Women's World Championships, is held in three out of four years; there is no Women's USBC in even numbered years that are not divisible by four. The Senior USBC, which selects teams for Senior World Championships, is held in three out of four years; there is no Senior USBC in even numbered years that are not divisible by four. The Junior USBC, which selects teams for the World Junior Championships, is held in each odd numbered year, to select the teams for the following even numbered year.
2019
The 2019 World Championship will be held in Sanya, China, starting in late October. As soon as we know more, we'll include links to information. The WBF has added a Mixed Teams Championship to the events for 2019, so we have added a Mixed USBC to the USBF schedule for 2019. Exact format has yet to be determined, and will depend on the number of teams entered, but it will likely be a Round Robin, then either Quarterfinal or Semifinal Knockout stage.
2019 Open USBC
The 2019 Open USBC will be held at the Hyatt Regency, Schaumburg, the new regular home for USBCs in years other than 2018, 2022, etc. The tournament will start on Friday, May 10th and end on Sunday May 19th. Room rate will be $136 and includes internet. The 2019 USBC will select USA2 for the 2019 Bermuda Bowl.
2019 Women's USBC
The 2019 Women's USBC will also be held at the Hyatt Regency, Schaumburg, starting opposite the Open USBC Quarterfinal on Tuesday, May 14th and ending on Monday, May 20th. The 2019 Women's USBC will select the two USBF teams for the 2019 Venice Cup.
2019 Senior USBC
The 2019 Senior USBC will also be held at the Hyatt Regency, Schaumburg, starting on Wednesday, May 29th (Memorial Day is Monday, May 27th) and ending on Thursday, June 6th. The event will select the two USBF teams for the 2019 Senior Bowl.
2019 Mixed USBC
The 2019 Mixed USBC will also be held at the Hyatt Regency, Schaumburg, starting on Friday, June 7th and ending on either Thursday, June 13th (8 or fewer teams) or Friday, June 14th (9+ teams). The event will select the two USBF teams for the 2019 Mixed Teams. The format will be a 2-day Round Robin followed by 1-1/2 day KO matches in USA1 and USA2 brackets.
2020
We do not yet know when or where the 2020 World Championship will be held. We also do not know whether the World Championship will include a Mixed Team, as it did in 2016. The 2020 dates for the Open, Women's & Senior USBCs are based on the assumption that the World Championship will be in September. If WBF decides on an earlier date for the World Championship, we will probably have to move all of the USBCs earlier. The 2020 Mixed USBC is scheduled on the assumption that there will be a Mixed Team event in the 2020 World Championship.
2020 Open USBC
The 2020 USBCs will be held at the Hyatt Regency, Schaumburg, the new regular home for USBCs in years other than 2018, 2022, etc. The Open USBC will start on Friday, May 8th and end on Sunday May 17th. Room rate will be determined after the 2019 USBC. The 2020 USBC will select the USBF Open team for the 2020 World Bridge Games.
2020 Women's USBC
The 2020 Women's USBC will start opposite the Open USBC Quarterfinal on Tuesday, May 12th and end on Sunday, May 19th. The 2019 Women's USBC will select the USBF Women's team for the 2020 World Bridge Games.
2020 Senior USBC
The 2020 Senior USBC will start on Wednesday, May 27th (Memorial Day is Monday, May 25th) and end on Monday, June 1st. The event will select the USBF Senior team for the 2020 World Bridge Games.
2020 Mixed USBC
The 2020 Mixed USBC, if needed, will start on Sunday, June 6th and probably end on Friday, June 11th. The event will select the USBF Mixed team for the 2020 World Bridge Games.
2021
We do not yet know when or where the 2021 World Championship will be held. The 2021 dates for the Open, Women's & Senior USBCs are based on the assumption that it will be in September. If WBF decides on an earlier date for the World Championship, we will probably have to move all of the USBCs earlier. The 2021 USBCs will be held at the Hyatt Regency, Schaumburg, the new regular home for the Open, Women's, Senior & Mixed USBCs.

The Open USBC will start on Wednesday, May 5th and end on Tuesday May 18th. The 2021 USBC will select both USBF teams for the 2021 Bermuda Bowl.
2021 Women's USBC
The 2021 Women's USBC will start opposite the Open USBC Semifinal on Tuesday, May 11th and end on Monday, May 18th. The 2021 Women's USBC will select the two USBF teams for the 2021 Venice Cup.
2021 Senior USBC
The 2021 Senior USBC will start on Wednesday, June 2nd (Memorial Day is Monday, May 31st) and end on Thursday, June 10th. The event will select the two USBF teams for the 2021 Senior Bowl.
