Teri and Mary Ose are the founding partners of Team OSMO. Team OSMO was established at the Providence NABC and is a group of women with a goal of competing (well) at the top levels of duplicate bridge. In order to achieve this, Teri and Mary (along with others) have been playing in many regionals and NABC's (as well as some international tournaments). In addition to duplicate bridge (her passion), Teri is also an accomplished amateur astronomer and astrophotographer and a world traveler. She is also a retired aerospace engineer. |

The first time I played duplicate bridge was 1976 in Doncaster England and joined the WBF at that time. I fell in love with the game and have continued this affair since then. 1984 moved to Sacramento, met my current husband at the bridge table there and have been married 29 years. 1987 became a Unit board member, Representative to the District, currently Unit President, having been Vice President & President of District 22. Also, worked/volunteered for 3 NABC’s, the last Reno NABC 2016, as CoChair. Retired from the California State Senate, Senator termed out. Am fortunate to have both sons living near me and we enjoy each other’s company |

I started playing bridge in my home country, New Zealand, where I learned ACOL: weak no trump and 4 card major. In Palo Alto I converted to a 2 over 1 style. I have won many regional tournaments with some success in nationals. I was lucky to have early guidance from National Champion Sherie Greenberg and European champion Ernst Jacobi. Now I pass on their methods by teaching and mentoring small groups of students. My Tuesdays are super busy with 2 other partners. We make lunch and run a game (usually with web movement) for 150-200 people. Typically about 42 tables unless it's a STAC or special game. I have been a board member for my home club in Palo Alto in charge of one Sectional. I also sit on the District 21 Committee. We meet three times a year at regionals. My careers were in teaching and Residential Real Estate. I worked for Coldwell Banker for 30 years and keep my license with a small local company in Palo Alto. My husband is also from New Zealand and is a professor at Stanford University in Operations Research. We have two wonderful daughters Tania and Emily in Mountain View and Sacramento. |
