SILVER FOR USA1 in the DAMIANI CUP

The USA1 Under 21 team, Adam Kaplan-Zach Brescoll, Adam Grossack-Zach Grossack, Andrew & Richard Jeng came from behind to defeat Israel in their semi-final match in Tai Cang. They lost to favored Poland in a 180 board final to finish with the Silver Medals - Congratulations!!

USA1 in the Under 26 Patiño Cup made the Knockout phase before losing to Australia in the Quarterfinals. USA2 in the Patiño Cup finished 13th in the Round Robin. USA2 in the Damiani Cup finished 11th in the Round Robin. The US Rona Cup team finished last in a small and therefore relatively strong field of teams of young women.

Congratulations to all of these young people for their performance in China and good luck to you all in the future.

CONGRATULATIONS 2012 USBF JUNIORS - GNTs

Hakan Berk and David Soukup, who will represent the USBF in the Damiani Cup in China later this summer, won their District 6 GNT Flight C and will be competing in the Finals of that event in Philadelphia. CONGRATULATIONS  to both of you and Good Luck in Philadelphia.

USA2 for the Damiani Cup (Hakan & David, Ben Kristensen & Burke Snowden, Arjun Dhir & Murphy Green) have been practicing regularly on BBO with their coach, Stan Subeck. It's nice to see that practice pay off.

APPEAL CHANGES SCORE IN DIAMOND-JACOBS MATCH

An Appeals Committee ruling late Tuesday night changed the score in the Diamond-Jacobs match. The appeal will be written up in the Daily Bulletin, but essentially, a bid that was made after a hesitation was not allowed, changing the result on a board from 6Cry making 6 to 3NT down 1. The correct score is posted on the results bracket.

ITTC Honors Mike Becker

At its meeting in Memphis, the ITTC honored outgoing chair Michael Becker and thanked him for 16 years of outstanding service to the committee and the bridge community in genera. At the end of the meeting, committee members applauded, gave Mike a "16 balloon salute" and a plaque with a golden gavel, as well as sharing this cake.

The ITTC also welcomed new Chair Jonathan Weinstein and expressed appreciation for his willingness to take over the daunting task and the best of luck in his efforts with the committee.
