Congratulations to Adam Kaplan-Finn Kolesnik and Adam Grossack-Eddie Wold on a very convincing win in the 2025 Open USBC. The Kaplan Team won their Round of 16 match against Wildavsky by 22 IMPs, their Quarterfinal match against Nickell by 44 IMPs, their Semifinal match against Wolfson by 113, and their Final match against Shourie by 117 IMPs.

Following the decision by the WBF to no longer allow players to consult written defenses against “Multi” at the table, the USBF has also eliminated the authorization for written defenses to those bids. This change will apply starting with the 2025 USBCs. “Multi” means an opening bid of 2 of a minor the only weak meaning of which is weak 2 of one Major.
At its meeting on February 10th, the USBF Board approved the following teams to represent the USBF at the 2025 WYBTC, pending completion of a small amount of outstanding documentation by some players.
