About the Players

Ben Bomber
 Ben Bomber Ben Bomber 23, is a first year law student at MSU in East Lansing, MI. Originally from Vancouver, WA, Ben graduated from undergrad at University of Washington in 2013 with degrees in International Studies and Economics. After graduating he spent a brief time in the Peace Corp. in the Dominican Republic before returning stateside and applying for law school.

Ben comes from a family of card players including many social and duplicate bridge players. His father began teaching him bridge when he was 10 which is when he first attended the Portland Regional. While at UW Ben helped found the UW bridge team and club and was part of the UW team that won the ACBL collegiate tournament in 2013. Ben is a certified bridge teacher. 
Anant Rathi
 Anant Rathi

Raised in Austin, Texas, Anant learned bridge at the age of 8, playing socially with his older brother and parents as a child. After caddying for several years, he got into duplicate at age 17 and has never looked back.

Anant studied computer science at UT Austin, graduating in 2013 and moving to San Diego where he currently works as a software engineer at Qualcomm.

Anant's first partner was his brother Ankur, and the two have played on-and-off for the past several years. He ran the bridge club at UT for 3 years, developing a few more partnerships along the way, but these days can be found at every NABC and Southern California regional.
